Wait, so what is NoonWriters?
NoonWriters is a daily writing work-out in the same way you might have a daily pilates or boxing class.
Just like with any gym membership, it’s ideal if you have a set schedule and attend on a regular basis, but if you miss a work-out, it’s not the end of the world.
Each work-out is structured to not only get you to show up for your writing on a consistent basis, but is ALSO designed to get you in the mood to write.
We start each session with:
A brief 3-5 minutes of desk yoga
Go over an encouraging or informative note on writing (i.e. The Man in the Arena, or anything else my therapist has found useful lately)
Cover a 3 optional prompts designed to help you creatively recover, pop out of writers block, and improve your storytelling technique
Then we get into structured silent writing time, with light lo-fi style background music that is designed by SCIENCE to help you focus.
Let’s go through what a typical NoonWriters Session Looks like:
For most NoonWriters, sessions start with an email:
This email includes 2 important things:
A link to your daily check-in form
A link to today’s Zoom
This email goes out about 10 minutes before a scheduled session
Then, You’ll Complete Your Check-in
The check-in form is pretty simple. It asks you to:
Rate your mood on a scale of 1-10
Rate your energy on a scale of 1-10
Set a small intention for the day
At the end of the month you’ll receive metrics on average mood, energy level, and more!
Pst: I have plans to build you a custom dashboard to help track these things over time - BUT it’s not up and running yet. That’s why this is still NoonWriters: First Draft
How It Works
Each 1 Hour Session Includes:
A short opener (tip, quote, member insight, etc.)
Quick stretch + breath reset to create a smooth entrance into a flow state
45-50 minutes of silent focus
A short checkout + micro-win
Accountability Tools:
Daily check-in form (goal, mood, etc.)
Exit log (words/pages, one win)
Top of session shout-outs / group recognition
Weekly digest celebrating consistent effort
Eventually: A custom dashboard to track your progress + library of tools and prompts tailored to your writing stage
